The Music Library supplies academic literature to staff and students of the University of the Arts Bremen (Faculty of Music) and members of the public with an interest in music. The library's collection includes sheet music, secondary literature and audio media and spans a broad spectrum, ranging from medieval to contemporary and modern music. Key areas of focus include Early and New Music, in addition to conventional repertoire material. The library's holdings are included in SuUB's search engine.
A hi-fi system is available on site for listening to audio media (the library holds a large collection of records and CDs).
Two aural training programs are installed on computers at the library for visitors wishing to prepare for their entrance examination or train their hearing.
Notation software (Finale) is also available for visitors wishing to work on compositions.
Adjoining the library, the winter garden is a special place lending itself for reading magazines and periodicals.
External copy and printing facilities are available in the same building.
Students and staff of the HfK Bremen as well as visitors of higher education institutions participating in eduroam are welcome to log into the wireless network via eduroam. Students and staff of the HfK Bremen can also access a range of e-books and e-journals from home using the VPN Client.
Guided tours of the library are available on request.
Information for users with disabilities: the library features a barrier-free entrance. An elevator is located at the entrance of the building. There is also a small elevator in the library rooms.
